Wanderer

A youth of caprice is what they say
Off on a zephyr of whim
“Impulses rule thy mind,” they say
“A single passion grows & then dims.”

I flit, I float and fly and fly
And never stick to a place
“Aimless wandering,” they nod & sigh
“Still waters hold much more grace.”

But I ask what use is that
To grow and die in the same shell
True, lakes look nice, like a paradise
But what stories can they tell

I’m running around on new ventures
And have seen space and time fill
I’ve experienced new adventures
I’ve lived and I live still.

Life is meant to be tasted
You experience & learn, as pass the days
Wanderers are never aimless
They’ve met Life and know her pretty face.
